His marine business acumen was enhanced as a result of 8 years work experience as a marine superintendent with Barber Ship Management and Barber Willhemsen Shipping Agencies, Subsidiaries of Wilh. Wilhemsen of Oslo, Norway

During his Appointment as Marine Superintendent with Barber Ship Management based in Mumbai, he was primarily involved with building its foundation of offering Crewing Services and relationship to various ship owners around the world. His main functions were crewing of officers and engineers, technical management for different types of vessels managed by the company as well as business development.

After successfully fulfilling his role as a marine superintendent he was appointed Port Captain in Dammam / Rastanura, Saudi Arabia, where he leveraged with the knowledge of this industry and excelled at adding value to his clients operations. He was in charge of chartering the vessels, technical management and crew management for the entire fleet at the offices of Saudi Barwil based in the Dammam and Rastanura regions, which were chartered to American Arabian Oil Company (ARAMCO),

Based on his past credentials he was entrusted a task that he would complete to the satisfaction of the Company and the client. He was appointed as Port Captain in full Capacities at Barber Blue Sea (Jakarta) This posting was specially made to start–up the operation as the company was awarded two separate contracts for  one utility vessel each, serving off-shore platforms with IAPCO and ARCO  (ATLANTIC RICHFIELD COMPANY). After offering professional expert assistance in setting up the operational functions and selecting the Operations Manager for the project and ensuring the smooth functioning of the same, he was posted back to his base in Saudi Arabia.

The amalgamation of his vast experience in consistently creating optimum marine structures and offering related services resulted in the formation of Asia Group of Companies, which was incorporated in 1989 with the intention of providing ship crewing and agency services to principals. Within a span of ten years the company grew into a complete shipping services company, providing all shipping and support services including ship management, chartering and ship broking services.
